If you are making a gift of food, clothing or supplies needed in our programs, it is best to call (831) 757-3838 to arrange a time to drop off your donation.
You may always mail your financial investment to PO Box 2027, Salinas, CA 93902-2027. Please make your check payable to Franciscan Workers. You may also charge your investment to your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express card (we’re happy to mail you an investment form – call (831) 757-3838 or email us). Please do not mail to our 30 Soledad Street address.
There are many areas of need, and we’ve listed several of them below. If you wish to restrict your investment to a particular need, it is important that you tell us that on your check or in the “Comment” field in the on-line investment page. We will respect your wishes and place your investment in the appropriate program.
• Feed the hungry.
• Provide hospitality and new beginnings for street women at Women Alive!
• Help children in farm labor camps through homework assistance and mentoring in Youth Alive!
• Help the unemployed learn skills and make a living through the Peter Maurin Work Co-op.
• Prevent homelessness by assisting the poor with prescriptions, housing assistance, utilities, and transportation (bus passes).

Sponsorships
The Benefactor $25,000 per year
Although your sponsorship can be used for any program you designate, we suggest the following:
• 40% for Dorothy’s Place general operations (includes the Kitchen, Day Room and necessary administration)
• 40% for Women Alive!, Monterey County’s only emergency shelter for homeless street women who don’t qualify for domestic violence or substance abuse program shelters
• 20% for Homelessness Prevention, including prescription, rent, utilities and transportation direct assistance to the poor.
• In gratitude, you will receive our Benefactor recognition plaque, most prominent recognition in our quarterly newsletter, most prominent recognition at our 25th Anniversary events, most prominent recognition at our annual event to honoring our major donors, and an invitation to bring a cadre of representatives to Dorothy’s Place for a special recognition dinner where you can personally meet our guests.
The Possibilitarian $10,000 per year
Although your sponsorship can be used for any program you designate, we suggest the following:
• 50% for Dorothy’s Place general operations (includes the Kitchen, Day Room and necessary administration)
• 40% for Women Alive!, Monterey County’s only emergency shelter for homeless street women who don’t qualify for domestic violence or substance abuse program shelters
• 10% for the Peter Maurin Work Co-Operative, providing job skills and income for the marginalized
• In gratitude, you will receive our Possibilitarian recognition plaque, prominent recognition in our quarterly newsletter, prominent recognition at our 25th Anniversary events, prominent recognition at our annual event to honoring our major donors, and an invitation to bring a cadre of representatives to Dorothy’s Place for a special recognition dinner where you can personally meet our guests.
The Hospitality Chair $5,000 per year
• Although your sponsorship can be used for any program you designate, we suggest your gift be used for Dorothy’s Place general operations (includes the Kitchen, Day Room and necessary administration). Unrestricted funds are greatly appreciated to fill in gaps not funded by emergency services funding.
• In gratitude, you will receive our Hospitality Chair recognition plaque, recognition in our quarterly newsletter, recognition at our 25th Anniversary events, recognition at our annual event to honoring our major donors, and an invitation to bring a cadre of representatives to Dorothy’s Place for a special recognition dinner where you can personally meet our guests.
The Franciscan $1,000 per year
• Although your sponsorship can be used for any program you designate, we suggest your gift be used for Women Alive!, Monterey County’s only emergency shelter for homeless street women who don’t qualify for domestic violence or substance abuse program shelters.
