Ruby Needs Your Help

Ruby Needs Your Help by December 31!

I’d like to tell you about a family who had been doing okay, living on the margins, until the rent went up. Ruby is a grandmother in her 50s. She’s a loving mother and caretaker, but today, her family is living in a tent.

For twelve years, Ruby and her family lived in an apartment, supported by a HUD housing voucher. Then, their landlord raised the rent beyond what her voucher would cover. They were forced out of their home.

Now, Ruby, her adult son, her daughter, and her four-year-old granddaughter are struggling to survive on the streets.

The challenges have been devastating. Her son, who is autistic, lost access to his school program because their homelessness made it impossible to get him there daily.

Without his program, Ruby had to leave her job to care for him, leaving the family without an income. Their only support is a small monthly disability check, which is nowhere near enough to get them housed again.

Ruby is stuck – no help and no hope. She fears for her granddaughter growing up in a tent in the most dangerous place in town, with nothing but pain in her future

This little girl needs a safe future.  Can you help Ruby and her family today?

Your donation can get Ruby’s son back into his program where he feels safe and can thrive. It can provide stability for her four-year-old granddaughter, who deserves a secure, loving home.

Please help Ruby move her family off the streets and into a safe, affordable place to call home.

This is a chance to make a direct, life-changing impact. Together, we can give Ruby peace of mind and restore hope to her family.

Her transformation includes a social worker and housing specialist trained in gentle care that will build a trusting relationship without traumatizing her again. This support can extend for as long as they need it, even after she is in her permanent home.

It’s getting colder and wetter for Ruby and her family.  Can you support her for a week? Or maybe 2 weeks? I hate thinking of what her 4-year-old is going through right now.

Only $57.29 will provide one week of support for a person like Ruby.

Sincerely,

Jill Allen
